iPhone 3G may be in the roofs of a Walmart near you

Back in June we broke the news that Apple would mix things a little away from the iPhone before its distribution model and get a couple of nationwide retailers in action. A little over two months later, in fact, Best Buy has started the implementation of the 3G iPhone as we reported. The other retailer we mentioned, however, Radio Shack, did not. We are not sure if Apple and the hut hit a wall during negotiations or May if we see the iPhone 3G pop up, but in the meantime, it looks like another major retailer swooped and flew Radio Shack thunder. One of our ninjas it on good authority that Walmart will begin selling the iPhone 3G next month – on November 15 to be exact. If Wal-Mart is indeed get the iPhone 3G, the timing of meaning with Black Friday coming a little less than two weeks later. 3G iPhone Reconcile in Walton’s Wonder undoubtedly help alleviate the congestion a bit for those heading to snag an iPhone 3G as a gift. Then again, taking into account you can not leave a store without activating the device in the first place, we doubt the iPhone 3G will sell anywhere near as well as the iPhone n ‘ was under the previous model activation here in the United States. Well, and that the little problem we seem to have with the economy …

TouchType: an iPhone developer stuff

Seriously, Apple, we are equally excited that you’re on the next portable refreshment, but you are fairly large company, is not it? You must have enough employees to handle lines MacBook and the iPhone at the same time. Does the development team of the iPhone been torn from their work to shovel the bricks of aluminum on conveyor belt? Whatever the case May, it is quite clear that the iPhone Apple developers are currently not attending various issues iPhone users have been complaining since the release of Apple of the first generation. Meanwhile, third-party developers are doing their best to slip by Apple to hit or miss App Store standards and solve some real problems. TouchType, a new application courtesy of Mike Schneider, addresses the iPhone painful lack of a landscape keyboard when typing emails. No, this is certainly not an ideal solution as Apple does not allow developers to effectively interface with OEM applications, but it is certainly better than nothing. In a word, TouchType presents users with a simple landscape text entry screen. Bang your message more comfortable (with two fingers!) Press the button and Envoyer TouchType completes a new e-mail with your text. Then simply choose your recipients and send immediately. Of course, the app is useless when it comes to answers and such, but not by the fault of the developer. To snag this software at very reasonable price of 99? The Search app store or click the link before Apple’s iTunes manages without warning.

Is iBlogger The iPhone App What We Have Been Looking For?

While some blogs iPhone applications target a certain blog platforms or all of them (with varying results), iBlogger, an iPhone app designed by illumineX introduced a number of really cool features that I ‘I found the disappearance of the same official blog applications such as WordPress and TypePad.

Although Xanga, SquareSpace Drupal and the fans are probably delighted that the iPhone is software that can (finally) to connect to their platforms, users of traditional platforms (Blogger, TypePad, WordPress) May wonder why they should go to 999 cents a soft when there other (cheaper) around alternatives.

So if you’re sitting on the fence, wondering if $ 10 is losing the joy of another iPhone app, this review below is for you.

Goods

Although not iBlogger allows users to transfer images and add labels to their positions, a function that many bloggers enjoy May iPhone is the ability to position a photo or right, left or center the text above.

I found this quite Userful because it allows Bloggers “spice” to their jobs a little more instead of simply place an image above or below a paragraph (which very often is not centered).

Another feature I found in iBlogger was the ability to create hyperlinks text of! Unlike some applications that the iPhone force users to share the code in the links, iBlogger you can simply type the words you want a link with the field below.

Last (but not less) iBlogger allows users to take advantage of the iPhone of GPS functionality, allowing bloggers to let their readers know where they are posted.

Although their are some other iPhone applications that allow users to geotag their location, links iBlogger you by pointing you to Google Maps instead of spitting at longitude and latitude numbers (the latter which is useless for most people).

Other features include iBlogger the ability to view the previous entries (and also edit) and the draft order files (mostly items you’ve created within the APA, but have not yet published).

Bads

While iBlogger has some advantages over its competitors, it has some shortcomings as well. First, users are able to display an image by limiting post-May that do not call for heavy photo bloggers (or even bloggers covering political events).

iBlogger also has a minor bug when viewing posts project, the post tends to disappear before your eyes May cause fear among some bloggers (Note: Your message is there, even if you touch the Edit button, then click “Back” to view your post).

Even if iBlogger can transfer images to most of its platforms, they have yet to provide this functionality for Blogger Blogger (aka blog), which will probably be soft this value to their eyes (as they may already send images through other applications, not to mention Mail-to-Blogger).

Result

So this software is the purchase value? Unless you belong to one of cults WordPress or Blogger / Blogspot, I recommend purchasing this software!

Regarding the faithful WordPress and Blogger, hippies (note: I say that in love) go, I recommend holding up iBlogger allows users to insert multiple images.

One point I would like to see added to iBlogger is the ability to display bold, italics or underline the police, and the ability to hypertext any word in the post (instead of a word / phrase at the end), let alone copy and paste (although I May be asking too regarding this feature).

New apps for iPhones

GeoGraffiti

GeoGraffiti allows people to record, publish and retrieve location-specific phone messages, called “Voice Marks,” – quick voice messages captured via phone that share information (opinions, tips, sales, advice) about a restaurant, event, activity, etc. Voice Marks are linked to a locality using a zip code or geo-tagged using latitude/longitude coordinates. GeoGraffiti voice platform aggregates and publishes content generated by end-users with any mobile phone on any wireless carrier in the US or accessed via computer. There’s even an iPhone specific app available for it.

WebIS.net iPhone apps

From the same folks that make Pocket Informant for Windows Mobile, comes 3 iPhone apps:

Note2Self – Note2Self is an audio recorder and voice note emailing solution for people who keep track of their task items via email or or store voice notes on the phone itself. Note2Self allows you to quickly record a voice note, save it and automatically send it to any email address…all without pushing a single button.

Speedster GPS – Speedster GPS shows you your speed and altitude in real-time using the GPS on your iPhone 3G. It will not work on a first-generation iPhone or iPod Touch. It also tracks your speed, distance travelled, and altitude as you drive, jog, or boat. Speedster is a fun app – its not something to be relied upon in court. While the calculations and data we show are accurate to the 12th degree it is based on AGPS data on the iPhone which can vary from being extremely accurate to not so accurate.

Pocket Informant – Not available yet, coming soon… Pocket Informant is The Next Generation in Personal Daily Management. Pocket Informant for the iPhone doesn’t just simply let you view your daily events but lets you really work with them. So many calendar or task applications are either too hard to use or too simple to be useful. Pocket Informant takes eight years of mobile experience and brings a fresh perspective to the iPhone user.

Shaker 1.0 for iPhone and iPod Touch

Shaker is a puzzle game for iPhone and iPod Touch. It is similar to a well-known classic puzzle game, but with a twist. Before the game starts choose how you want to control the game:

    * Classic - by tapping buttons that appear on the screen below the playing field
    * Stirred - by using simple finger gestures
    * Shaken - by shaking your iPhone

As blocks with 7 basic shapes composed of four objects each fall down the playing field you can manipulate them by moving sideways and/or rotating by 90 degrees, with the goal of completing a row of objects without gaps. When such row is completed, it disappears, and any objects above the deleted row will fall. As the game progresses, the blocks fall faster, and the game ends when the stack reaches the top of the playing field, so no new blocks are able to enter. Your score increases each time the row is removed or you “drop” the falling block. At the end of the game, if your score reaches the top-10 list one of 101 martini recipes stored in the program is randomly unlocked. Unlocked martini recipes can be viewed by touching the Info button that appears on the Title or High Score screens. You can also change the shape and color of objects that make up the blocks.

Copy and paste for iPhone now available

If you think about it, it is somewhat surprising that Apple has not yet managed to add the good old copy and paste feature to its iPhone software. Help comes from the developer community with a free framework that provides copy and paste features on a system-wide level. At least three developers are already implementing the feature in their applications, one of them being a WordPress blogging tool, and several others are apparently in the queue.
