Fresh Rumor: iPhone 5 is going to have ‘Curved Glass Screen’

iPhone 5 Curved Glass Screen

According to latest news report from DigiTimes, Apple’s next generation cell phone device, iPhone 5 is going to have a curved glass display like the Google’s Nexus S.

It has been said that Screen makers are unwilling to invest in expensive glass cutting equipment, and Apple has bought 250-300 glass cutting machines for those Screen makers. DigiTimes also stated that those glass cutting machines have been located at different assembly facilities, and Apple is helping its suppliers on manufacturing process of curved glass screen. We already knew that Google Nexus S which was launched in December 2010 with a curved screen, that perfectly fits into palm and face. It is likely that Apple is trying to catch that trend.

Previously we have stated that iPhone 5 is going to have an edge-to-edge screen, that rumor is based on a fact that a Chinese smartphone case producer Kulcase’s is currently offering cases under the name “‘iPhone 5G”. Which seems pretty odd enough for now.

However, still many tattle suggest that iPhone 5 won’t have dramatic upgrades, and it is going to be identical in design.

Thanks for the update on this curved glass screen of the iphone 5! I was wondering the reason behind Apple going for this glass finish for its device. After reading this post I found my doubts getting cleared.
