It is now publicly known that Steve Jobs is going to demonstrate the latest gifts from Apple, however it is uncertain that will iPhone 5 take place ? As we all know that Steve Jobs did take a break to fight with cancer, but today he will be there to present iCloud music streaming and the newest mobile OS iOS 5. In official conference statements, there is no sign of appearance for iPhone 5, but we are still keeping hopes alive for a surprise.

According to official statement, “Apple CEO Steve Jobs will be the one who opens the WWDC 2011 conference, and he will annunciate the Lion, 8th major release of Mac OS , iOS 5 and iCloud.”

Many tech geeks, states that Apple will keep the launch date until the September, so it may catch the Christmas rush.It has been said that Apple has made signed-contracts with music giants like Universal Music Group, Sony and EMI to make unlimited music streaming over this new service iCloud. Also the closest sources to Apple has stated that being a rival to Google’s new Beta music streaming, it will going to be free for a while for iTunes customers and then it will going to charge the service for $25 per year, it is a decent price, huh?

A news report from 9TO5Mac states that, Apple has been getting busy with making the next gen iPhone 5 smaller and thinner by utilizing smaller SIM cards instead of an e-SIM.

Stephane Richard, CEO of France Telecom/Orange, got a meeting with Apple and according to his words, “It is beyond difficult for a carrier to manage its customers without a sim card, mostly for authentication purposes”. He also told that they got an constructive dialogue with Apple.

They reached on a common point, so little compromises from both sides. Briefly, the new SIM card is going to be smaller than the micro-SIM used in the iPhone 4. A different executive from Orange stated that Apple has delivered prototype which utilizes the agreed new SIM, that prototype was definitely lighter than the iPhone 4, also the prototyped had an edge-to-edge screen and it could be used by touching and also by voice commands.

According to latest news report from DigiTimes, Apple’s next generation cell phone device, iPhone 5 is going to have a curved glass display like the Google’s Nexus S.

It has been said that Screen makers are unwilling to invest in expensive glass cutting equipment, and Apple has bought 250-300 glass cutting machines for those Screen makers. DigiTimes also stated that those glass cutting machines have been located at different assembly facilities, and Apple is helping its suppliers on manufacturing process of curved glass screen. We already knew that Google Nexus S which was launched in December 2010 with a curved screen, that perfectly fits into palm and face. It is likely that Apple is trying to catch that trend.

Previously we have stated that iPhone 5 is going to have an edge-to-edge screen, that rumor is based on a fact that a Chinese smartphone case producer Kulcase’s is currently offering cases under the name “‘iPhone 5G”. Which seems pretty odd enough for now.

However, still many tattle suggest that iPhone 5 won’t have dramatic upgrades, and it is going to be identical in design.

A recent belief says the four major U.S carriers have made an agreement secretly, to delay the iPhone 5 later in this year. This belief is nothing but b.s. However it appears that they have really made an agreement, if they haven’t, then what the heck? Why don’t we still know that why iPhone 5 is delayed? No explanation has made by Apple and they still try to keep the iPhone 4 era alive , by a white one. So why? Maybe some will benefit from this situation, since a delayed iPhone 5 will be better for the major carriers, and even for the Sprint. There appears two reasons which explains this, the first one is 4G and the second is Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint.

So you may ask yourself why the all 4 major U.S carriers want a delayed iPhone 5 with 4G. The answer is not so trivial, there are many factors, but the most important is that the most of the consumers aren’t really aware of the forthcoming 4G technology, even they don’t know and care about it, only a bunch of geeks know the true meaning of the 4G. So the most will remain ignorant about 4G until a 4G iPhone is released. So later is better, idea of 4G technology becomes solid in the consumer minds, and they may have a better understanding of it. The second reason is that Apple doesn’t think that current infrastructure of the carriers are wide enough and usable. However even the smallest of the carriers thinks that it has the best infrastructure when it comes to 4G. So a possible delay will give chance to carriers to improve and broaden the 4G network. We see that the two sides (Apple and Carriers) will benefit from the potential delay.

If we think about them, let’s consider Verizon, has a bad reputation from the late iPhone 4, and wants to re-obtain its credibility with 4G, and customers will most likely not to switch to iPhone 5, if the time span between iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 is short. What about the AT&T ? A sooner iPhone 5 will hamper its sales since it has barely a 4G network, and it should have to finish the integration with T-Mobile if it wants to benefit most. It is clear that delayed iPhone 5 is better for AT&T also. So if we consider Sprint, by now it is the only major carrier which stays away from the iPhone, and doesn’t seem to switch iPhone until a 4G iPhone released. So Sprint may be waiting for iPhone 4G to switch. From all the sides a delay will be better except the customers who wait for a sooner iPhone 5.

While iPhone 5 release date rumors seems to be settled down (most readers would agree that the earliest date is September for this expected launch) , new rumor seeds regarding the next generation iPhone ‘s screen and the name are being sprinkled to the soil.

One interesting rumor regarding the screen arrived from PC World, saying that the iPhone is going to have stretched (wider) screen, it is going to be nearly as wide as the front face of the phone, and it is called edge-to-edge screen. There is a clear evidence for this rumor, a Chinese phone case manufacturer ‘Kulcase LTD’ is currently selling a crystal case which is specifically designed to fit edge-to-edge screen iPhone. The product is now available on alibaba.com, but we don’t know how this case is designed and how could they be sure about the next gen iPhone, maybe the case design based on a leaked plan from Apple. The case points a new spot for the back camera and camera flash.

According to PC World, number of such third party manufacturers who are actually successful on predicting the next generation iPhone are small in number. China having a competitive market on smartphone cases, are open to such leaks, which sometimes produces early peaks to designs through these cases. However Apple changes designs/plans in the last minute, which predictably messes up the plans of the third party impatient companies.

We have already billions of rumors regarding iPhone 5 in the blogosphere now. But not many of them speak of the name of the phone. Because it may be trivial to many and not too interesting to talk, but as we said, Apple is known to be changing plans in the eleventh hour. Although the phone cases from the Chinese market give us hints about the name, we are still not sure about the name.

Rumors from the blogosphere suggest a few names to the next generation iPhone. As you can easily guess, it is called iPhone 5 mostly, but there are 2 another choices, which are iPhone 4S and iPhone 4G.

Previously, we have heard that Apple gave away a version of iPhone 4 to game developers, in order to introduce iPhone as a gaming machine. Since that iPhone had better cpu, A5 dual-core processor which is the same processor with iPad 2. This cpu made iPhone more powerful on high resource demanding applications like games. This version of iPhone explaines where the name iPhone 4S came from. Like in the 3G and 3GS, there was a serious difference in performance and this is why they put ‘S’ (Speed).

A news from 9to5Mac, says AT&T is just insisting on the name 4G, and they are renaming the previous phones supporting HSPA as 4G, actually there is a loose standard for qualifying a phone as 4G, according to this standard a phone may be said to be 4G even though it is no more faster than 3G. By the way the iPhone 4 has a built-in HSPA technology infrastructure, but it is inactive.

One thing is known for sure, with the next generation iPhone and the other smartphones, there will be a big 4G war, and there is a high possibility that this may be reflected to the next generation iPhone’s name.

A recent report from Jefferies & Co has been revealed that the next gent iPhone could include some incremental upgrades and could be named iPhone 4S, and carried by Sprint and T-Mobile.

Peter Misek wrote that “The iPhone 5 with LTE [Long-Term Evolution] launch in September does not seem possible for now and According to the industry, the device should be called iPhone 4S and it could include some minor cosmetic changes, better camera, A5 processor and HSPA+ support” in one of his research notes. The notes also said that, Sprint,T-Mobile and China Mobile will possibly be announced as new iPhone carriers. Lately management people from Apple has claimed that they are working on a CDMA iPhone, which proves the notes are legitimate.

Currently Verizon and AT&T are the only carriers which offer iPhone to its customers. Recently, AT&T has acquired the T-Mobile, despite this acquisition, T-Mobile denying to offer iPhone in the near future. We red this from a writing from their own website, saying “T-Mobile USA stays as an independent company, the acquisition will be completed in the next 12 months, we do not offer iPhone, we offer cutting-edge devices like Samsung Galaxy S 4G”. This statement clearly says that customers craving for an iPhone should at least wait for the next year, until the acquisition finally completed. This acquisition is definitely a gain for Apple, since at the end of the March 21, the T-Mobile has a total of 34 million subscribers. Ultimately T-Mobile will start offering iPhone, company and the customers can’t resist the craze.

The things are a bit rusty in the Sprint side, the company is still silent about a possible iPhone deal, the CEO Dan Hesse stated that he was unable to comment/speak about a deal with any suppliers. Next year, after the acquisition, Sprint will be the only carrier which doesn’t offer iPhone, if they are not willing to sign a deal with Apple. Even though they offer great 4G devices, iPhone is considered to be the best and a must for a carrier.

Some anonymous sources have whispered to Reuters that Apple will be shipping iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S starting from the September, this means that production of the next gen iPhone has been already started or it will start in the July. These sources also stated that the stocks will hit the stores at the end of 2011.

Current trusted sources have underlined that next gen iPhone will include A5 dual core processor, 8 mega-pixel camera, possibly NFC (Near Field Communication) support which will turn iPhone into an electronic wallet. Such features are enough for Apple to out perform its rivals.

According to the analysts, a possible iPhone 5 launch September will likely to occur without the most speculated feature, “4G Long Term Evolution (LTE)”. Tech reports claim that 4G is a pretty new stuff and it is still in roll-out phase in most countries and we won’t be seeing it operating before few years.

Forbes said that, a resarch white paper from analyst Peter Misek of Jeffries & Co underlined that next gen iPhone is coming with lots of new feautures as expected but, LTE is still one year away from the Apple and the forthcoming launch will occur in this September.

Most tech blogs and sites agree on that the iPhone 5 can be considered as an iPhone 4S with some cosmetic changes and with better camera, also it will have A5 processor and will support HSPA+.

It is also believed that Apple is going to announce that iPhone 5 will be available on more carriers this time, including Sprint, T-Mobile and China Mobile.

Another tech news says, current LTE chipsets of Apple are not achieving the expected success in battery performance and in efficiency, so it is to early to include those primitive chips in iPhone 5.

According to the latest news reports, Apple might be considering to produce iPhone 5 Lite and unveil it at the same time with the normal one. Reports claim that iPhone 3GS and iPad 1s are just selling in greater number than the equivalent devices in the Android market.

Michaell Walkley of Canaccord Genuity claimed that Apple is following a new strategy to increase the revenue of Apple in the low end smartphone market, which is currently under invasion of Android devices. As we know, iPhone 4 has became the top selling smartphone up to now, but iPhone 3GS is still in the shelves and outselling some of the Android devices like HTC Inspire and Motorola Atrix on AT&T.

Comscore data claims the similar with Walkley, while Android is growing in the market, its growth is not hampering the Apple’s share in the market. The idea of producing a lite version is came up to surface when the price of iPhone 3GS dropped to $49 from $99 on a two-year contract. This showed that actually there is still a demand to low end devices. By the way, Apple is currently focusing on the iOS more than the hardware, and will demonstrate the future of iOS in the WWDC 2011. This might be a sign that Apple may revamp the iOS for low end devices.

Rumors suggest Apple may produce iPhone 5′s lite version from the iPhone 4 fundamentals, the design may remain similar to iPhone 4, but they should replace the expensive parts like the glass back, for instance they might use cheaper aluminum back part, also the screen size would definitely be reduced. In order not to degrade the user experience, they might use A5 cpu with lower memory.

These are just options which reduces the production costs, so Apple might be interested in taking a share in the low end market, so iPhone 5 lite with a cheaper price is a nice revenue generator for this goal.

After the launch of iPhone 4, it’s all back again to iPhone 5 rumors. Especially many credible sources started to guess release dates again and then there is the colour issue. Will it be available in white ? Ohh, and which carriers will it support? We know this time Verizon is not going to disappoint us, but what about the T-Mobile? Maybe iPhone 5 is a bit early for T-Mobile.

Colour issue got busied us all for a long time, after the tweet of Mr.Apple, all of us can’t stop our self from spreading the rumors about iPhone 5 is on the way and bla bla. But many skipped the fact that the white one is actually an iPhone 4. So this time we wonder if iPhone 5 will be available in the black and white, or it will be completely in metal, aluminum or any other.

So after the white iPhone 4, geeks waiting for WWDC 2011 have turned their eyes on at the end of this summer. Even a baby in the cradle would say the earliest possible date is sometime in this Fall.

We are all sure AT&T will serve the iPhone 5 from the very first day, and we can see that Verizon is going to take some action to close the gap and it will serve the iPhone 5 on the first day too. However things are a lot complicated with T-Mobile and Sprint. They are assumed to join the race at some time, but they should do this as soon as possible. After the acquisition of T-Mobile, they are on the safe side, but Sprint is now far behind in the race and it will continue to bleed until the date it will serve the iPhone, but iPhone 6 may be too late for Sprint, so it’s better for Sprint to join the craze with iPhone 5.
