iOS 4.3.3 to fix the location tracking bug

iphone location tracking bug

Apple has give its word to release a fix for the location-tracking bug, this fix will include all the devices that use iOS, so there will be 4.3.3 release of iOS 4, which will contain the fix, it is been said that it will probably be released in next few weeks.

This fix is said to solve issue, remember, this bug was discoevered by two researchers, who are interested in the encrypted files stored on the phone, they realized that some of these files contained the hotspot location coordinates, which are also backed up by iTunes. This is really disturbing for many.

The iOS 4.3.3 update is said to stop this backing up mechanism, so the locations will not be saved by iTunes when you connect your device to your computer. Also the cache size for stored locations is going to decrease and all cache will be deleted when you turn of the location services.

This update will also address problems that are not related to location services, it is said that it will improve the battery life and will fix some iPod Touch bugs.

iOS 5 tests

Recently, it is been said that iOS 5 is continuously tested on both iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad and iPod touch some of the tests resulted in serious crashes. Apparently Apple wants to support 2 years old devices too. (It is said so because of the crash reports regarding iPhone 3GS and iPod touch.)

According to 9to5Mac reports, developers ranging from iPad, iPod touch and iPhone are continuously reports tests and improvements to Apple, yet it is unclear whether they will be suported in iOS 5.

All we know is that, Apple is going to release the beta version of iOS in WWDC 2011 this June.

Verizon iPhone 4 production has been stopped

Verizon iPhone 4

Lately, a report from DigiTimes explained that Apple is going the limit the production numbers of CDMA iPhone 4 for Verizon by half, this means that production will be limited up to 5 million instead of 10.

The report is based on the explanations of Pegatron which is a chosen CDMA supplier of Apple, the explanations said the company had a $20 million loss in the last quarter.

However all these seemed to be in contrast what Josh Lowensohn of CNET has been cited about Apple’s quarterly profit. Apple has got a spike in sales of its products in this quarter. Which can be interpreted that Verizon iPhone 4 boosted sales. So why would Apple wanted to put a limit to production numbers by half?

According to Verizon, nearly 2 millions of iPhone 4 has been activated in the first two months after Verizon iPhone 4 availability, but at least we now know that the numbers aren’t enough for Pegatron to make their job profitable. So that may be the reason why.

White iPhone 4 arrived with questions

white iPhone 4 is thicker

After white iPhone 4 ‘ the beauty’ has been released, customers continuously reporting that the white iPhone 4 0.2 millimeters thicker than the normal one. However Phil Schiller of Apple reported that customers have misinterpreted the design, since Apple has increased the depth of iPhone 5, since the the hue is lighter. Recently he twitted that “The white iPhone 4 isn’t thicker, don’t give credit everything you read.”

Even though, Schiller sounds satisfying, Apple is having hard times explaining all the photos showing white iPhone 4 is thicker.

Another thing is that if the specs page for device says it is 9.3 mm in depth, which is the same with the black one. However many customers observed that white iPhone 4 is clearly thicker. In addition, some customers reported that the cases for the black iPhone 4 doesn’t even fit for the white one.

iPhone 5 : Pro and Normal version

iPhone 5 pro iPhone 5 normal

According to a recent rumor from one of the iPhone blogs in the net, claiming that Apple is going to produce two version of iPhone 5, normal and pro. The above picture depicts the mockup for normal and pro version.

The major internal components for these device are said to be similar, but some of them are the best parts available in the market. The components are said to be similar in function, but some of them are higher in quality, which may be a sign that Apple is producing two types of iPhone 5. Also the suppliers claim like the previous reports that iPhone 5 is going to be available in this Fall.

All these are just rumors, so take them with a grain of salt, but it would definitely be interesting if Apple is going to release two different versions for iPhone 5.

Today’s iPhone 5 and iPhone 6 Rumors

iphone 5

According to the latest rumors, Apple is planning to use Sharp’s new poly-silicon LCD displays, which are currently in design & production phase, and are expected to arrive in early 2012. So that Apple can assemble them into iPhone 6. The super-light and super-thin screens are supposed to consume very little energy and they appear very bright and vivid compared to current screens.

Another rumor about iPhone 5 is that the iPhone 5 will be released CDMA/GSM chip-set, which allows iPhone 5 to work with both AT&T and Verizon, and this is definitely awesome. But the other good stuff is that, if LTE 4G chip-set is included in iPhone 5, this will surely skyrocket its speed, but if not, many may want to wait for iPhone 6, since it will definitely include LTE 4G chip-sets if iPhone 5 doesn’t.

We think, it will become more clear, if we should wait for iPhone 6 or not when iPhone 5 is released. Since if it doesn’t include LTE 4G chip-set why wouldn’t we subsist with iPhone 4 ?

White iPhone 4 : Shipments finally arrived to stores

white iPhone 4 shipment

Apple has solved the problems with the paint and screen light leakage of white iPhone 4. And we are just counting down the days. Most stores in the Belgium have received their white iPhone 4 shipments. As shown in the above image, the outside design remained the same, and  antenna design wasn’t changed. Briefly it is just a “white” iPhone 4, and it looks classier than the black one, and the ones who want to have rare products, this one is for you. In our opinion, white iPhone 4 will bring the iPhone 4 sales to the top, and also those are impatient to wait iPhone 5, can feed their hunger, so that they can skip iPhone 5 and wait for iPhone 6.

iPhone 5 Prototype revealed (possibly)

iPhone 5 prototype

We have heard the rumors saying iPhone 5 with a 4-inch screen will be released late in this year, however companies in Apple’s supply chain have claimed that there is no sign about iPhone 5 and currently received no feedback from Apple regarding the product.

Today, M.I.C Gadget has revealed an image, which depicts iPhone 5, but they are not sure if the image is genuine or home-made. We already know that some well-known game developers are currently using A5 powered iPhone 4, it is because they are currently getting busy creating new stunning games which may be presented in WWDC.

As we have previously stated, you may expect iPhone 5 to have 8 mega pixel camera, A5 processor, and of course the white option from the very first day. From the image, it is clear that there is no slight change in the chassis, looks like a white iPhone 4, which is the most speculated iPhone ever. Also rumors suggest, the antenna issue will certainly be fixed with iPhone 5, we hope so.

Yesterday, we published a post with an image which shows Apple is testing iPhone 4 on T-Mobile’s 3G network. This time Apple may be preparing to launch iPhone 4 in all four carriers.

You can check it here : Apple is testing T-Mobile iPhone and maybe Sprint iPhone

The above picture gives us an idea what may the new iPhone look like, even though it is an unofficial design, it is not unrealistic, it is a slick and classy design. Joshua Topolsky from Engadget created the image. He admits that he enjoys speculating such prototype designs.

The rumors have just divided into two sides, one side says the design will remain similar to iPhone 4 or slight changes may appear, the other side suggests a complete new design, like the one in the above image.

The image shows the home button area is enlarged, which can be a support for gestures, so there may not be a hardware home button. Also the back side is forged like macbooks, which looks very classy. On the other hand the whole design doesn’t seem very ergonomic. But it deserves at least 7 stars out of 10.

Apple is testing T-Mobile iPhone and maybe Sprint iPhone

T-Mobile iPhone

Boy Genius Report has published some leaked photos belonging to Apple’s prototype iPhone device is currently being tested on T-Mobile’s network. In addition to this, the prototype device seems to be utilizing A5 chip, which is expected in iPhone 5.

In our own opinion, Apple is a bit late about T-Mobile, Apple should have considered to be compatible with T-Mobile ages ago, no doubt, it is one of the widely used cellular networks in the US. We know that, T-Mobile utilizes similar infrastructure and standards like AT&T but it just works on a different frequency when it comes to 3G, and this frequency isn’t currently supported by iPhone.

The prototype device and the testing clearly shows that Apple will be preparing its next gen iPhone to be compatible with T-Mobile, rumors suggest Apple is also having testing procedure with Sprint, which means that iPhone 5 or later gens may be compatible with all carriers, and which is a big step in becoming the dominant in smartphone market.

After the acquisition of T-Mobile, its customers will sooner or later access the iPhone, but it may take years for AT&T to merge the networks, however it seems that Apple is going to decrease that waiting time for T-Mobile customers, and will be available for all four carriers, this is clearly verified by those testing procedures.
